Updates From Flood-Affected Areas

Our consignment of 8500kgs of dates arrived last night at Sabzi Mandi Islamabad. Tehseen-ul-Haq, (our volunteer) supervised the entire activity. And the aid reached our godown in Charsada early this morning. We added some more aid from Islamabad including milk (Olpers and Milkpak), Canola oil (10 and 5 litter cans). Half of the dates ( around 4200 KGs) will be distributed in surrounding areas of Charsada while a quarter is for the hard-to-reach areas of Shangla ( upper Swat) and another quarter is for worst-affected-areas of Nowshera like Mohib Banda, Misri Banda and Pir Sabaq.

In today’s world when all the efforts are being made to secure the right to freedom of expressions from various restrictions and in this regard blasphemies are also justified, the news like ban on public veil wearing is shocking to liberal minds. Unfortunately some European countries totally forget about this right which is crucial for the development of a liberal and democratic society when they attempt to place ban on some religious symbols like veil. These European countries’ stance on veil of their women has become a hot topic now days.
