Unbelievable, the news is enough to numb you!

When I came across the news, the first thought that appeared in my mind was that it was fake one to spread misunderstanding and hatred…

How comes in the presence of security officers, in a court room of some enlightened nation such a brutal act can be carried out? After all it was not Pakistan and Afghanistan where women are forced and insulted, but a civilized and developed country Germany?? I thought.

So left the news at that time and kept myself busy with some other stuff. Later when got enough time to research, it was not less than a blow. You can also see the news being reported in the BBC website.

It took me few months back when release of a doubtful video in Pakistan showing flogging of a girl in Swat took the world media by storm. But Marwa-al-Sherbini failed to get attention of the same media and human rights activists who were all crying loud to end up the peace treaty (Swat Agreement :which could save Pakistan from the dreadful disaster and Swat people from having a nightmare type of life) reached between the Pakistan Govt and the Taliban for the sake of the girl, even by her death!!

And one wonders what is the difference in the attitude of the Taliban and the so called civilized men of the west , one group attacks women for not covering and the other for covering themselves? Both are extremists so standards to treat both should be the same. Should not there be some crack down in some western countries to protect the women’s right to wear whatever they like??

And the incident reminded me of my aunt who lives in the USA and always complains that after 9/11 it is highly risky for women to wear scarf while moving alone for they (Americans) show their hatred by attacking you with acid or any other weapon. I would always laugh her off calling her coward.

Everything about the incident is quite strange. For instance

1-In the presence of security personnel, lawyers, judges and other staff, she gets 18 stabs!  What were all those people doing at that time? Why no one came to stop him? And when her husband tried, he got injured by the firing from police!!!

2-In the presence of her 3 years old she was murdered, what affect his innocent mind has got??

3-A question that always haunt me while reading or watching inhumane attitude of the west, be it the case of a serial killer (commonly found there), their treatment of POWs(Prisoners of Wars) in Abu Ghuraib, Guantanmo or Bigram,  Aafia Siddiqui and now Marwa. How can a human be that much cruel to his counterpart? And the only answer I get is that they are all psycho.

4-It further raises the issues regarding women’s right. Is it that a woman has right to live her life as she pleases or the definition is also ambiguous like that of terrorism’s????
